► What is Ziyarat, The significance and importance of Ziyarat, the term used for visitation of the graves of the vice regents of Allah, who include Allah’s messengers, prophets, the shrines of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. and his Ahl al-Bait a.s. The importance of the visitation of the graves of Allah’s representatives and are explained from various traditions of both Shia and Sunni authorities. One of the most important features of this Ziyarat is that in different phrases, Imam al-Mahdi a.s. graphically describes the events of Ashura and the agony that Imam al-Huasin a.s. and his family faced on that horrific and ominous day.
